Your Little Falls Personal Trainer Does Not Recommend Fad Diets

Weight loss with commercial diets has always been popular among the masses. Among these fad diets, there are juice fasts, soup-only diets and many others, many promising to help you lose a tremendous amount of weight in a short period of time. The problem is, weight loss is often never achieved and if it is, it is due to deprivation. That is, these types of diets focus on taking food away.

Let’s say you really would like to lose 10 pounds as quickly as possible. You see a commercial for a diet that guarantees 10 pounds of weight loss in one month. This sounds enticing because, at the end of the month, you will have reached your weight loss goal and look great. You might even fit into those skinny jeans again. Now, you may very well lose that 10 pounds in one month and fit into those skinny jeans. However, the likelihood of you keeping that weight off for an extended period of time is very low. This is because after the diet is over, you go back to old eating habits.

A few months later, you are dissatisfied with how you look and start a new diet and the cycle continues.

The right way to lose weight is with a personal trainer in Little Falls. Here are more reasons why your current fad diet isn’t working.

Many fad diets often encourage big changes in eating habits but completely skip over the whole exercise thing. You see, without exercise, your body doesn’t build muscle, and when you don’t have adequate muscle tissue, you don’t burn as many calories as you should. Basically, dieting without exercise is an act of futility. Muscle mass is critical in losing weight and maintaining weight loss.

All too often, fad diets focus on cutting certain foods out of your diet. But there is a problem with that; your body needs foods from all of the food groups and if anything is cut out, it becomes unhealthy. Diets that are extreme and make you cut out all fats, no carbs or to only eat these foods are probably not good for you.

A much better approach will have you eat plenty of foods from all of the food groups. Experts recommend you pack your diet with vegetables and fruit. And you might want to cut back on that pasta.

A couple of things happen to you when you are hungry because you aren’t eating enough, you become tired and unmotivated. When you feel like this, it is a warning your body is sending you that something is not right. There are all too many fad diets that don’t give you what your body needs in terms of fuel and nutrients. A lack of nutrients and fuel causes extreme fatigue.

When you are fatigued, you don’t feel like exercising, which makes losing weight that much more difficult. Fad diets like this are simply an unsustainable way of losing weight and keeping it off.

A fad diet in which you lose a lot of weight in a short period of time is great for the moment, but it is never a long-term solution and could be having a negative impact on your health. The inventors of these fad diets would have you believe that you are burning fat like crazy when in reality, you are just losing water at an alarming weight, leading to possible dehydration.

A healthy diet doesn’t focus on the speed of weight loss, rather the focus is on proper nutrition and plenty of water.

That fad diet you want to try, it might wind up costing you a lot of money. Nothing is free and you can bet that there is plenty of money to be made in the diet industry. Those supplements you are buying every month as part of your fad diet plan, they cost a lot of money. What’s worse is that they may also be putting your health at risk.

After several months, when you finally realize that you are just throwing money away, you change things up and move on to a new fad diet.
